From June 17th to 19th, our team embarked on an unforgettable journey at the Special Olympics Montana. As we stood on the sidelines, we were privileged to witness the extraordinary determination displayed by the athletes. Their unwavering spirit and dedication to their respective sports were nothing short of awe-inspiring. Each athlete showcased their skills, strength, and perseverance, proving that nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it.

Employee Spotlight: Ryan Peterson
This month, we met Ryan Peterson, Vision Net's Network Technician who has been developing innovative solutions for our clients for over 17 years. Along the way, he has helped expand Vision Net's IP hubs, designed some really cool LED boards, and found Great Falls' best burger! Learn about Ryan role at Vision Net.
What is your position at Vision Net and what do you do? Network Technician, and I help maintain our IP infrastructure.
How long have you worked at Vision Net? 17 years since August!
What made you choose Vision Net? I was interested in computers and networking, and Vision Net gave me the chance to work directly in that field.
What 3 words describe Vision Net? Home Grown Company
What is your favorite thing you have learned at Vision Net? Seeing the interconnectivity the modern world requires!
What challenges do you enjoy at Vision Net? The fact every day has and will bring something new to learn, to understand, to deconstruct, and rebuild.
Are there any projects you have worked on that you’re proud of? I helped in the last major upgrade to our core network with the physical installation at most of our IP hubs, working with Indatel to upgrade their Chicago peering exchange and expanding our network's reach outside the state.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Vision Net team? Being part of a team that care about the people we are helping.
If you could add one thing to the Vision Net office, what would it be? Maybe a gym!
What advice do you have for prospective Vision Net candidates? Certifications can be far more useful then a full degree.
What is something people would never guess you do in your role? Some basic electrical work with AC and DC.
With the changes in technology, how has your job changed? Ensure we can provide secure bandwidth now, but the ability to expand it in the future. Streaming services changed how people use the internet.
What is your favorite movie? Right now, I really like The 5th Element
What is your favorite food? A little cheesy, but a hamburger. Roadhouse still gets my pick as best burger place for all the places I’ve been.
Do you have any talents or hobbies? I would slap a nerd or geek label on most of my hobbies. My newest interest has been in designing custom LED boards and playing around with different effect packages I can work with.
How do you define success? When your needs are satisfied to the point your wants are your major concern.
Retirement Party: Dick Egan
Today we said a very fond farewell to Dick Egan. He has worked at Vision Net since April of 2003 and has been, among other things, a TAC Supervisor, Network tech, Facilities go-to guy, and has spent the last ten years working with the PSAP team, where he will be sorely missed.
Our CEO, Corey Jensen, gave Dick a recognition plaque and said some words to him:
Dick, from the bottom of my heart, your are an inspiration. We all aspire to be as good as you, thank you for all the influence you have on us, whether you know it or not. You truly are an institution here, that we'll not replace easily. Make sure to stop by to say hi, we certainly will miss you.

Business Development team hosts Vision Net BBQ
What a great way to end the week! This Friday at Vision Net Great Falls office, we had delicious Tacos during our Company BBQ thanks to our Business Development team. The food and fun started at 11:30 in our pergola.
It's been a tradition in our company to hold cookouts during summertime and we can all agree that this has been an amazing summer!
