Employee Spotlight: Justin Jung

For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we met Justin Jung, who has been an integral part of Vision Public Service Access Point (PSAP) team. Learn about his role at Vision Net, how technology has changed his job, and what condiment he simply cannot live without!

What is your position at Vision Net and what do you do?

I am part of the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) team as an NG911 Tech

How long have you worked at Vision Net?

5.5 years

What 3 words describe Vision Net?

Accommodating, compassionate, and fun

What is your favorite thing you have learned at Vision Net?

The infrastructure around our E911 Network and how it operates

What challenges do you enjoy at Vision Net?

I’m proud to be a part of all the projects that I’ve worked on, especially helping with the state 911 network

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the Public Service Access Point (PSAP) team?

100% of my Telco knowledge databases come from working here. Before I began at Vision Net, I was completely green and now I have an extensive knowledge base.

If you could add one thing to the Vision Net office, what would it be?

Maybe a Basketball court?!

What advice do you have for prospective Vision Net candidates?

If it’s a field that you’re wanting to explore, jump right in. Vision Net is the perfect starting point for your career.

What is something people would never guess you do in your role?

I think the better question at this point is what I don’t do! In addition to my engineering work, I work with facilities and I am the main contact if anything goes wrong.

With the changes in technology, how has your job changed?

I think the biggest changes have been in our ability to monitor so we can better analyze where the problem is and we can proactively prevent downtime and service disruptions.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I have a lot of hobbies such as playing video games with friends, work on my cars, have fun outdoors, and working on projects. I have a lot of projects!

What is your favorite food?

Anything with sauerkraut

How do you define success?

I think success is defined by the attempt. It’s not the pass or fail, it’s about how hard you try and what you learned.
