This month, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Chuck Boots, a NOC Technician who has built his civilian career with Vision Net for over 8 years. We learned about his role at Vision Net, his hobbies, and his Schnauzers!
What is your position at Vision Net and what do you do?
I am a Network Operation Center Technician, Company Phone Administrator. I assist in coordinating installs and monitor equipment for owners and our clients during the night shift.
How long have you worked at Vision Net?
8 years as of July 28.
What made you choose Vision Net?
I have always been interested in IT and after retiring from the Air Force and going to school for 2 years I wanted to take it up full time.

Friendly, efficient, and caring
What is your favorite Vision Net perk?
Meeting new people and getting new challenges constantly.
What have you enjoyed learning at Vision Net?
How the backend of the internet works.
How would you describe Vision Net’s company culture?
Efficient, friendly, and hard working.
Are there projects you have worked on that you’re proud of?
Working with Bill on a PSAP upgrade in Roundup, plus learning and working with our phone system.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of the NOC team?
The people I work with.
How has the NOC evolved to meet the needs of our clients?
Changing shift hours to meet with customer demands, training and learning new systems and support for customers.
What is something people would never guess you do in your role?
Read 500-600 emails nightly.
What is the greatest innovation you have seen in your lifetime?
The internet.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Spending time with my wife and my 3 Schnauzers.
What is your favorite movie?
Back to the Future.
What is your favorite food?
French Fries and Hamburgers.
Do you have any talents or hobbies?
Working on cars/trucks, Spelunking, and tinkering with electronics.
