Vision Net goes to the Job Jamboree!

Vision Net was one of many venders looking for employees in this tough market. Based on the turnout, there are a lot of openings in our community, and many people to fill them.

Kids just out of high school, to adults that are retired, but looking for some extra money on the side. Looking for IT specific positions to fill, there were a few candidates that will be great follow ups.

Vision Net Hosts First Engineering Summit

Last month, our first Engineering Summit brought Vision Net's shareholders together for learning, updates, and collaboration. The event was held in Billings at the Northern Hotel and coordinated by our Operations Manager Gary Evans.

We look forward to the next one!

Vision Net Christmas Lunch Party

On Tuesday, we celebrated our annual office Christmas lunch party. The food was delicious, thanks to @ClarkandLewies catering. We provided each employee with a sweater and winter hat to show how much we appreciate all their hard work.

We hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far!

Share the Vision Conference 2021

Over the 2-day Share the Vision Conference at the Northern Hotel in Billings, Vision Net employees provided updates on each department's projects and progress, shared switching project updates, our success with fiber training, and our ongoing transit projects to our Shareholders.

Panel discussions included information on network security, legislative updates, and ethernet testing. The Share the Vision conference is a great opportunity to bring different departments and shareholders from across the state together and ensure goals are aligned.

After Tuesday's discussion and updates, many attendees participated in Axe throwing at Ox Indoor Axe Throwing to great success!

During the conference Wednesday, Gary Evans, Vision Net's Operations Manager, spoke on the NOC's growth. As a special thank you to those who spoke during the conference or were on a panel, we gave out a branded Vision Net growler. At the end of the conference, Jared Sherwood, InterBel's Central Office Supervisor won a drone in our giveaway for all attendees.

After the discussions ended, attendees enjoyed a relaxing cocktail hour to unwind before the next day's Golf Tournament.

Vision Net Celebrates 25 Years

Vision Net is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The company was founded to provide advanced, cutting-edge distance learning and Internet services to rural Montana schools. Today, Vision Net is one of Montana’s leading technology companies delivering a wide range of technical professional services that includes broadband network wholesale, Internet services, design and management of customized wide area network (WAN) solutions including SD-WAN, endpoint and network security products, and more.

Most recently, the company funded and delivered critical broadband fiber infrastructure to Helena and Billings, two cities experiencing—yet struggling to meet—increased Internet demand.

Vision Net is built on rural values of cooperation, accountability and commitment, and boasts a culture that is “Montana-friendly” while inspiring creativity, passion and accountability. The company provides ongoing professional training for employees, competitive benefit packages, and flexible scheduling to help employees achieve a better work-life balance. The recently-renovated Billings office was designed with employee comfort in mind, and Great Falls employees enjoy summer BBQs in the renovated breakrooms and outdoor areas as that office undergoes renovations and upgrades.

Vision Net is highly committed to local communities and organizations. For example, it has been a three-year sponsor of the Special Olympics – not just financially, but with Vision Net employees volunteering at the games. Additionally, the company has long partnered with Billings TrailNet and is the 2020 title sponsor for the annual Ales for Trails fundraiser.

Looking ahead, Vision Net CEO Corey Jensen said the company will continue to innovate to stay ahead of the rapidly-changing IT curve while meeting the needs of employees, customers and communities.

“Knowing we are delivering meaningful, impactful solutions to our customers and our communities is why we’re all here,” Jensen said. “I look forward to Vision Net’s next 25 years and the many relationships, challenges and opportunities that will come along with it.”

Healthy is Wellness Returns

On Wednesday, June 24, Healthy is Wellness staff returned to the Great Falls office to provide a monthly health assessment. To cultivate a culture of health, Vision Net provides health assessment from Healthy is Wellness. Using advanced body composition technology from InBody, employees are given an assessment that evaluates overall health using key metrics such as muscle mass, BMI, and skeletal muscle mass.

One employee we talked to appreciates the ability to track their progress, learn areas to improve on, and learn how to achieve different health goals helps them focus on overall health, not just the number on the scale; their goal over the next month is to reduce their sugar intake.

For others, increasing physical activity, improving sleep patterns, or improving mental health are goals that are attainable through the consultation. Whatever your goals are, Healthy is Wellness is here to help you. Your health and well-being remains a priority, and a key benefit Healthy is Wellness provides Vision Net employee is they break down barriers to health, provide medical-based measurements to map your help, and educate employees on preventing or lowering your risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancers, inflammation, and other diseases that can affect their health. Best of all, your data belongs to you and all data is secure.
